Julianna Pena was born in the United States. At home she is fully known as Julianna Nicole Penna, is a professional mixed martial artist who fights in the bantamweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Julianna Pena is the youngest of four siblings. She was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and moved there when she was very young. When Julianna went to high school, she went to Mt. Spokane High School. She went to Spokane Community College after that. In her early adulthood, she wanted to lose weight and use her aggression, so she started taking a cardio kickboxing class. She then switched to mixed martial arts.

It was May 2009 when Pea made her professional mixed martial arts start. She had gone 2–0 as an amateur. She won four fights in a row, but her first loss came in April 2012 when she lost to Sarah Moras in a 140-pound catchweight fight. When the fight happened, it was just two months and one week after Pea was hit by a drunk driver as she walked through downtown Spokane. She was knocked out and had her nose broken in the accident. Ten months later, she took part in a professional fight for the first time. She competed in the flyweight division, moving down from the bantamweight division, but lost by unanimous decision.

Julianna Pena had to fight Gina Mazany to get into the house in the last round. She was in charge of the fight from the start and won a clear unanimous decision victory after two rounds.
Julianna Pena took on Shayna Baszler in the first tournament fight in the house. Baszler is a veteran and is ranked in the top 10 in the world. It was Ronda Rousey who came up with this match-up between the two first female picks. It was widely thought that Baszler, who was more ranked and had more experience, was the favorite. During the first round, Jullianna Pena landed effective boxing combinations and fought off several of Baszler’s attempts to get him into a submission. In the second round, Pea hit Baszler with powerful knee strikes that made him slur his words. In the end, Pena took the fight to the ground, where he was able to get back mount and win with a rear naked choke. This was one of the biggest surprises of the season.
Jullianna Pena took on Sarah Moras in the semis. They had a professional fight in 2012, but she lost because he was injured by an armbar. The doctor had to stop the fight between the second and third rounds. Pea won the fight with a guillotine choke in the second round to make up for the defeat.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Pena took on Jessica Rakoczy in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter 18 on November 30, 2013, at the show’s end. Won in the first round by way of TKO. She became TUF 18’s female bantamweight champion.
People thought Jullianna Pena was going to fight Jessica Andrade at UFC 171 on March 15, 2014. After all, she walked away from the fight because she hurt her right knee. Her ACL, MCL, LCL, and meniscus were all damaged, as well as other parts of her body, when she was grappling in training. Doctors say that even though Pea’s right knee is in bad shape, she will be able to walk again after surgery and rehabilitation. For the rest of 2014, Pea couldn’t play.
UFC is back.
Pena came back to fight Milana Dudieva on April 4, 2015, at UFC Fight Night 63, to face her. First, she got a TKO. First Performance of the Night bonus: Pea also got her first bonus award because of the win.
Pena took on Jessica Eye again on October 3, 2015, at UFC 192, when they met again.
She won the fight by a landslide.
Pena took on Cat Zingano at UFC 200 on July 9, 2016. Zingano had been a title challenger in the past. She won the fight by a landslide.
UFC on Fox 23 took place on January 28, 2017. Pea took on Valentina Shevchenko. She was stopped by an armbar in the second round and lost the fight. 
On October 14, 2017, Pena said that she was pregnant and would be taking a break from the sport for good. On July 13, 2019, at UFC on ESPN+ 13, nearly two and a half years after her last fight, she came back and took on former UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion Nicco Montao, who had been replaced by Sara McMann, who had been hurt. She won the fight by a unanimous vote.
Jullianna Pena was supposed to fight Aspen Ladd at UFC on ESPN 8 on March 28, 2020, but the fight never took place. However, Pea pulled out of the fight in early March because he was hurt. 
UFC on ESPN: Holm vs. Aldana will be on October 4, 2020, and she will fight Germaine de Randamie in the co-main event. He choked her out of the fight in round three.
UFC on ABC 1 was supposed to show Jullianna Pena vs. Sara McMann on January 16, 2021, but it was moved to UFC 257 on January 24, 2021. This is how she won his fight in round 3.
At UFC on ESPN 24, Pena was supposed to fight Holm on May 8, 2021, but that didn’t happen. However, Holm had to pull out of the fight because he had hydronephrosis.
Pena was supposed to fight Amanda Nunes on August 7, 2021 at UFC 265. However, on July 29, 2021, Nunes was found to have COVID-19. The fight was moved to December 11, 2021. Pea won the fight with a rear-naked choke submission to become the new champion and win the title. First, Pea beat Nunes in 7 years.
Film and television
A mixed martial arts documentary called Fight Life was made about Pea. The film, which was made by James Z. Feng and came out in 2013, won an award.
