Early Life Modeling

Paris Whitney Hilton was born in New York City on February 17, 1981, to Richard Hilton and Kathy Richards Hilton. Hilton, his sister Nicky, and brothers Barron and Conrad are all heirs to the Hilton hotel enterprise.

Hilton, born into the performing stock, began modeling as a child at charity events and was dubbed “Star” by her mother and grandmother. Her aunts Kim and Kyle Richards are still in the business, as is her maternal grandmother “Big” Kathy Dugan. Zsa Zsa Gabor married Hilton’s great-grandfather, Conrad Hilton, and Elizabeth Taylor briefly married Hilton’s great-uncle, Conrad Nicholson Hilton Jr.

Hilton grew up in a series of high-end homes. In her freshman year of high school, she lived in the family’s Beverly Hills home and attended Marywood-Palm Valley School. When the Hilton family relocated to New York City in 1996, she graduated from Dwight School. During this time, the family lived in a suite at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan and visited a multimillion-dollar estate in the Hamptons.

In their new home on the East Coast, Hilton and her sister attended A-list parties, humanitarian activities, and fashion shows. A titillating 2000 Vanity Fair article captured by famous photographer David LaChapelle cemented their stardom.

Hilton then joined T Management, Donald Trump’s modeling agency. She was quickly featured in advertising for prominent fashion labels including Christian Dior and Tommy Hilfiger as well as national magazines. Hilton later worked for Ford Models Management and London’s Model 1 Agency.

The “It Girl” of New York

A media frenzy in 2001 branded Hilton “New York’s top IT gal.” She developed a bad reputation for reckless jet-setting and hard-partying due to her short-lived romances with stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Oscar de la Hoya.

She had a cameo in Ben Stiller’s feature-length spoof of the modeling business, Zoolander (2001). In 2002, she starred in the horror flick Nine Lives. The next year, she starred in Wonderland and Cat in the Hat, as well as her own small-screen reality program.
